Omega Black Eye Beans - 1KG

Black-eyed peas, 1kg, dried. Soak them, then cook them. An Indian kitchen makes lobia. A Southern kitchen makes Hoppin' John. African and Caribbean stews and a Mediterranean salad use the same bean.

They are a vegetarian protein once they are cooked. The kilo is a kitchen bag and a household bag. Do not tip dried beans into a service pot and hope.

Cool and dry, bag closed. Pick them over before you soak. A stone in a kilo bag is how a tooth gets cracked. Salt the pot late if you want the skins intact.
