White soy sauce, 1.8 litres. This is a 1.8LTR bottle of halal-certified alcohol-free Japanese light soy sauce from Sakura Jirushi. Usukuchi is the Kansai-style "light" soy sauce — lighter in colour but actually saltier than dark koikuchi soy — used in dishes where preserving the natural colour of the ingredients matters.

The kitchen uses it for dashi-based clear soups, simmered dishes (nimono) where colour matters, kyoto-style Japanese cooking, and light Japanese pickles and marinades. There is no alcohol in it. The pack is marked halal.

Store it cool and dry. Refrigerate it after opening. Origin on the label: Japan.

This is our Japanese grocery for Dubai and beyond, stocked first for restaurant kitchens and just as happily for home cooks. Is this a Japanese grocery store in Dubai?

We're an online shop with delivery rather than a walk-in supermarket. If you'd like to collect your order, you're welcome at the GGFT warehouse in Dubai Investment Park 2, Monday to Saturday, from 8am to 5pm.

Do you supply restaurants and hotels?

Yes, that's where we started. Kitchens order the same way as everyone else, with clear prices on every product and kitchen-size packs where we have them.

Can I buy smaller packs for home?

Of course. Plenty of items come in home sizes, such as the 50-sheet nori pack and the 1-litre Kikkoman.

When will my order arrive?

Order before 6am and we'll deliver the same day where available. Delivery in Dubai is free on orders over AED 150. Our delivery page has the details.

Where do your Japanese products come from?

Most come from Japan, with some from China, Singapore and Thailand. Across the whole shop we import from 23 countries, and we ask chefs what they actually use before we bring something in.
